MEET THE OWNER
Cynthia is the owner of The Framery in Hobe Sound. The Framery, Inc., is Hobe Sound's premier frame shop & gallery. Cynthia is a graduate of Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn. She has her B.S. in Managerial Accounting and a B.A. in Mixed Media, Intaglio, and Silk Screening.
Her painting style was developed from working with acid etchings. She worked with creating textures for silk screening which led to work incorporating natural materials and other mixed media on canvas. Her current work is a simplification of those techniques. Cynthia often uses sand, palm fronds, and other organic materials to add interesting texture to her paintings. Cynthia’s artwork is displayed in The Framery gallery, as well as at Bridge Road Fine Arts Gallery.
Cynthia's art style was also influenced by her international travels. In the late 80's she bought a one way ticket to London and traveled the globe spending time in The British Isles, Europe, Greece, South Africa, Hong Kong and China, Australia, and New Zealand.
Cynthia, who apprenticed at Cantebury Cathedral, is adept at restorative work and her reputation for this expertise is continually growing in South Florida. As a long time member of the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce and a philanthropist, she is an avid supporter of many local Hobe Sound organizations and charities.
